Julien Crépieux
Whether making films, installations, or collages, Julien Crépieux’s work proposes original devices through the appropriation of images, films, texts, and music, of which he twists the modes of appearance, giving rise to works marked with a formal as well as poetical dimension.
Born in 1979, Julien Crépieux is a young artist whose work interests more and more critics and curators including Elodie Royer, Yoann Gourmel (who will publish a text on the artist for the exhibition) and Jean-Marc Prevost, Judicaël Lavrador, Pascale Cassagnau, Karen Tanguy, and collectors such as Jean-Conrad and Isabelle Lemaitre who support particularly his video work.
His work was shown in several exhibitions in Plateau - art center contemporian FRAC Ile-de-France (Elodie Royer and Yoann cur. Gourmel), Centre d’art contemporain de Quimper (cur. Marc Bembekoff ), the space of art concrete Mouans-Sartoux (cur. Paul Ardenne and Fabienne Fulchieri) and the CRAC Sète (cur. Judicaël Lavrador).
He also participated in several exhibitions in France (Palais de Tokyo, CAPC in Bordeaux, Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Toulouse, Video Club, The Showcase, The Promise of the screen, Poggi,Bertoux Gallery) Aperto Gallery) and abroad (Hermes und der Pfau, Stuttgart, French Institute, South London Gallery, London; GAMeC, Museum of Contemporary Art in Bergamo, Italy, Art Center of Nizhny, Russia).
